SSS Entrance/Recessional SONGS II

GO TELL EVERYONE (R)

(1)

God’s Spirit is in my heart. He has called me and set me apart. This is what I have to do, what I have to do:

(Antiphon)

He sent me to give the Good News to the poor, tell pris’ners that they are pris’ners no more, tell blind people that they can see, and set the down-trodden free, and go tell everyone the news that the Kingdom of God has come, and go tell everyone the news that the Kingdom has come.

(2)

Just as the Father sent me, so I’m sending you out to be My witnesses throughout the world, the whole of the world. (Ant)

(3)

Don’t worry what you have to say. Don’t worry because on that day God’s Spirit will speak in your heart, will speak in your heart. (Ant)

THEY’LL KNOW WE ARE CHRISTIANS (R)

(1)

We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord. We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord. And we pray that all unity may one day be restored.

And they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love. Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love.

(2)

We will walk with each other; we will walk hand in hand. We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand. And together we’ll spread the news that God is in our land. (Ant)

(3)

We will work with each other; we will work side by side. We will work with each other; we will work side by side. And we’ll guard each man’s dignity and save each man’s pride. (Ant)

All praise to the Father, from whom all things come! And all praise to Christ Jesus, His only Son! And all praise to the Spirit, who makes us one! (Ant)

GATHER IN US (E)

(1)

Here in this place, new light is streaming, now is the darkness, vanished away. See, in this space, our fears and our dreaming, brought here to You in the light of this day. Gather us in the lost and forsaken. Gather us in the blind and the lame; Call to us now, and we shall awaken, we shall arise at the sound of our name.

(2)

We are the young our lives are a myst’ry, we are the old who yearns for Your face. We have been sung throughout all of hist’ry, called to be light to the whole human race. Gather us in the rich and the haughty. Gather us in the proud and the strong; Give us a heart so meek and so lowly, give us the courage to enter the song.

(3)

Here we will take the wine and the water, here we will take the bread of new birth. Here You shall call Your chil-dren at table, call us anew to be salt for the earth. Give us to drink the wine of com-passion. Give us to eat the bread that is You;Nourish us well, and teach us to fashion, lives that are holy and hearts that are true.

(4)

Not in the dark of buildings confining, not in some hea-ven, light years away, but here in this place, the new light is shining, now is the Kingdom, now is the day. Gather us in and hold us forever. Gather us in and make us Your own; Gather us in all peoples together, fire of love in our flesh and bone.

TIME TO CHANGE (R)

(1)

It’s time for us to make our dreams come true. A guiding voice will tell us what to do. It’s the time to change ourselves and show the world that we still truly care for each other.

(2)

We’ll lead them to a place beyond the sea. A place of love where everyone is free. Don’t despair the path to happiness is wide. If we must change our ways call on God for our guide.

(Coda)

If we must change our ways call on God for our guide.
