FILL THE WORLD WITH LOVE

(1)

In the morning of my life I shall look to the sunrise, at the moment in my life when the world is new. And the blessing I shall ask is that God will grant me: To be brave and strong and true, and to fill the world with love my whole life through. And to fill the world with love, and to fill the world with love, and to fill the world with love my whole life through.

(2)

In the noontime of my life I shall look to the sunshine, at the moment in my life when the sky is blue. And the blessing I shall ask will remain unchanging: To be brave and strong and true, and to fill the world with love my whole life through. And to fill the world with love, and to fill the world with love, and to fill the world with love my whole life through.

(3)

In the evening of my life I shall look to the sunset, at the moment in my life when the night is due. And the question I shall ask only I can answer: Was I brave and strong and true, did I fill the world with love my whole life through? Did I fill the world with love, did I fill the world with love, did I fill the world with love my whole life through?

VOCATION SONG (R)

(1)

You called, I heard your voice of that I’m sure beyond mistaking. You offered me a choice to share with You Your undertaking. You’ve pointed out the way, a narrow path, no super highway. I asked: “What road is this?” You said: “It’s my way.”

(2)

Regrets, I’ve had a few but then You knew I was but human. I guess You’ve had Yours too, for weren’t You true God and true man? You knew more than a few who heard Your words in their own wry way. And chose (you wept for those) their own broad highway.

(3)

Yes, there were times, I’m sure You knew; that I was tempted to be untrue. But through it all I turned to You; there’s nothing else that I could do. If I’d not call I know I’d fall and do it my way.

(4)

I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried, I’ve learned of life with real elation since you’re here by my side as friend and guide in this vocation. What life could better be for one like me saved from the wry way. For this, this life of mine to be lived Thy way.

(5)

For what am I without your love, without Your love, without Your Spirit sent from above. I give my life, I give my heart and not keep the smallest part. I’ve heard your call, I give my all and follow Thy way.
